Based on the natural science, geosciences and marine sciences theoretically, this subject solves the significant geological problems in national economic construction and serves the development of our economic society by means of geology, geophysics, geochemistry and computer science. In recent years, the subject has developed unique research feature and advantage fields in areas such as marine geological engineering, marine sedimentary and environmental engineering, deep-sea resources exploration and evaluation technique, marine geophysical prospecting technique, and oil and gas exploration technique.
